“Punto Com” Association is based on the cooperation between people that have been working for a long time within cultural mediation and are strongly convinced that   knowledge and the exchange of different traditions are a source for peaceful life and mutual knowledge. 

The promoting partners of the Association have worked with a number of diplomatic representatives within the field of cultural mediation for important performances and events such as:

• Organization of “Days of the folk culture of Rio de la Plata”, on behalf of Uruguay Embassy, under the supervision of the cultural attaché Silvia Irrazabal;
• Staging of the short film “Hombre”, within the celebrations for the centenary of Pablo Neruda’s birth. The film, that was under the patronage of the Neruda Foundation of Santiago de Chile, has been  shown in a number of international festivals and broadcasted by Rai Doc;
• Organization of the cultural events for the centenary of Pablo Neruda’s birth, that was held at the Benetton Foundation (Treviso, Italy), in cooperation with the cultural attaché of the Embassy of Chile, Patricia Rivadeneira;
• Organization of “Artetnica” worldwide music festival, under the patronage of the municipality of Roma;
• Organization of Irish Culture Meetings, under the supervision of Susan Conlon, First Secretary of the Embassy of Ireland.

 

Nowadays, Punto Com Association is carrying out the project of a monthly town magazine devoted to inter-culture topics. This magazine will “narrate” the multi-ethnical city of Rome in order to give full visibility to all the handicraft, cultural and sport activities and events in which the foreigner communities in Rome have a leading presence.

 Punto Com’s activities are making the Association as a landmark for foreigner people living in Italy, that recognize Punto Com to act as an intermediary and a reference for their needs, especially as far as the fulfilment of papers and procedures are concerned. Punto Com is in fact totally available to support them within the diplomatic and public offices and institutions in Rome, with special cares for the foreigner residents living in the outlying areas of Rome.
